CompFrame 2005 Additional Notes on the Venue and Meeting Organization

The primary purpose of this workshop is to promote discussion and information exchange among developers of HPC computational frameworks, and to begin building an international community in this emerging research area. As such. your participation not just in making your own presentation, but also in discussions of other presentations is extremely valuable. When making your travel plans, we request that you devote the entirety of Wednesday and Thursday to the workshop. The hotel has agreed to extend the special room rates for several days before and after the workshop to allow you to spend additional time exploring the many tourist and leisure activities the Atlanta area has to offer.

Wireless (and in some areas also wired) network access is available throughout the hotel. Participants will be given two pre-paid cards, each authorizing one day (24 hours) of network access. (We are working on distribution procedures for these cards.) Normal charges are roughly $10/day if you need additional online access time. Inquire at the hotel desk.

On Wednesday and Thursday, breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be available in the Georgia Tech Hotel's restaurant without charge to registered workshop participants. There will be a group of tables set aside for our group. Please identify yourself as a CompFrame participant when you are being seated.
In the Conference Center area, snacks will be available throughout the day to participants, including continental breakfast if you do not wish to partake of the full breakfast in the dining room.
There are a variety of small, mostly "fast food" restaurants, within a block or two of the Georgia Tech Hotel and many more within waking distance.
Atlanta has many fine dining restaurants in the Mid-town area, in which the hotel is located, and elsewhere. Those in Mid-town tend to be a somewhat longer walk than the fast food places mentioned above, but are nevertheless walkable. Mid-town and other restaurants are also reachable by taxi and some are convenient to the MARTA subway system.
